All Ninco Classics (Ok, 1 Rev/Mono GS Corvette). All are either NC-1 Powered or are using the M/T-1 motor that is an exact match for the NC-1. A few of my repaints are in this lot as well.
These both had the cockpit covers that I've removed. I re-used the cockpit-style bubble windows as they often did back then. I simply cut new holes for the glass and filled the original ones.
I used Slot.it axles and gears, Slot Car Corner 15x7" wheels and inserts and Ninco tires. The motors have since been replaced with M/T-1 14k units. Excellent handling and running cars!
I've "tweaked a few Ninco Corvettes. The idea was for them to look like SCCA racers of the 1950's-60's.
A shot of the Corvettes blasting down the back stretch of the PDR.
Ninco 356 that I applied decals and cleared. I also tossed the convertible roof and the hubcaps. NC-1 powered.
Painted with Duplicolor Automotive paints, and is a real 1957 Corvette color. Done up as a weekend warrior a Doctor might have driven in SCCA events.
I removed the center part of the grille and bumperettes as many racers in the day did to save weight.
My good friend Lee made me this 356 - it now sports flared wheel wells, Fuchs wheels, and his signature Gulf paint job!
Rear rollbar is simply bent brass rod.
This Corvette looks mean!
Cobra I added decals and clear to. I also replaced the original NC-2 with an M/T-1 motor.
Scalextric and Spirit Trans-Am U2 Cars
My Trans-Am U2 Liter Cars: Spirit 2002, Scalextric Escorts, my resin Datsun 510s, Revell/Monogram Lotus, MRRC Porsche 911
Scalextric Escort stripped with 91% rubbing alcohol and repainted with Duplicolor Deep Cranberry Metallic over Duplicolor primer and and then clear-coated with Duplicolor clear. Decals are a mixture of left-overs in my box.
Line up of the three latest repaints
Scalextric Escort stripped with 91% rubbing alcohol and repainted with Testors Go Mango lacquer over Duplicolor primer and and then clear-coated with Duplicolor clear. I used Tamiya tape to two tone the car. Decals are a mixture of left-overs in my box.
Escort and Spirit chassis prepped: Weight added, wires trimmed, electronics removed, tires and wheels trued.
These things go really well with Paul Gage's Urethane tires. Excellent grip and alot of fun to drive!
Spirit BMW stripped with 91% rubbing alcohol and repainted with Duplicolor primer and then clear-coated as I wanted a base gray color. Decals are a mixture of left-overs in my box.
Various makes and models
My good friend, Lee, sent me this fantastic MRRC Cheetah! I couldn't leave well enough alone though and added Paul Gage's Urethane tires, an M/T-SL1 motor, and some decals.
A few of my SCX Cuda Repaints
Fits right in with the vintage sports cars!
Yep, this was the "Limited Edition" one...don't care - had to decal it!
Scalextric Ferraris
This started off as the yellow one that ran at LeMans...I couldn't stand the paint scheme, so I simply redid it.
Scalextric GT40's
One of the famous HRW Slot Burger cars! I have 2 - I HRW's Mr. Wise tuned for me and one MIB that has the case signed.
